B ased on Society of Petroleum Engineers, PetroBowl competition is an international competition that pitches SPE student chapter teams to compete against each other in a series of quick-fire rounds, answering technical and nontechnical industry-related questions. The contest has grown in size and popularity since its debut in 2002, and in 2015 was taken global with the introduction of six regional qualifier contests.
Regional qualifier competitions now take place in the Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, South America and Caribbean, Middle East, and North America SPE regions. Then the top 32 teams who won the regional qualifier are to be invited to the PetroBowl Championship at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition.
Petrobowl Asia Pacific Regional Qualifier (APRQ) is the biggest oil and gas industry smart competition for the regional qualifier that will be attended by Universities around Asia Pacific. Petrobowl APRQ 2018 was held in China University of Petroleum, Qingdao, East China.
The previous event has 18 teams from 6 different countries which are Indonesia, China, Australia, India, Vietnam, and Philippine. There are 4 main rounds in the previous competition which are Preliminary Round, Eliminary Round, Semifinal Round, and Final Round.
